Hi, I’m Barbara Sunchaser *

Barbara Sunchaser is a trauma-informed yoga teacher based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, offering yoga, mobility, and rest practices through the Oxford Wellbeing Coop. Her work is rooted in accessibility, inclusion, and creating welcoming spaces for people who may have felt excluded from mainstream wellness environments.

Drawing on advanced yoga training and specialist trauma-sensitive approaches, Barbara supports people to connect with movement and rest in ways that feel safe, sustainable, and empowering. She is particularly passionate about challenging the performative and diet-culture narratives often associated with fitness and wellbeing, and instead centres care, choice, and individual experience in her teaching.

Barbara offers regular group classes in Banbury, including Yoga for Mobility, Yoga for Balance, Yoga for Stress Relief, and monthly Slow Down Sunday sessions, alongside one-to-one and small group yoga support.

Barbara’s Approach

Barbara's teaching is guided by the belief that yoga should be accessible to everybody and every body. Drawing on trauma-informed principles, she creates welcoming spaces where people can explore movement, rest, and self-awareness at their own pace, with an emphasis on choice, autonomy, and individual experience.

Whether teaching group classes or one-to-one sessions, Barbara aims to help people feel more connected to their bodies and supported in their wellbeing. Her approach prioritises inclusion, accessibility, and moving away from the performance and diet-culture narratives often found in mainstream wellness spaces.

“Barbara’s classes are a beautiful and gentle experience, beginning with soft breathing exercises that guide us into the heart and the present moment.

During her sessions, I feel my heart open and a gentle energy flowing through my body.

What I enjoy most is the deep awareness of being connected—to myself and to everything around me. Barbara creates a safe, nurturing space where I can truly let go and just be. ”
