OWC featured on RadHR: Safety is a Collective Responsibility
We’re really pleased to share that the Oxford Wellbeing Co-op has been featured on the RadHR blog, where our co-directors reflect on safety, accountability, and care within the wellbeing sector.
The article explores an uncomfortable but important reality: much of the wellbeing industry is largely unregulated, leaving both practitioners and participants vulnerable when harm occurs. As a new cooperative of practitioners in Oxford, we’re committed to doing things differently — embedding safeguarding, ethical frameworks, and collective accountability into the foundations of how we work.
Our piece shares some of the lived experiences that have shaped this commitment, and the practical steps we’re taking as a co-op — from developing safeguarding policies and codes of conduct to creating clear reporting and whistleblowing processes.
Ultimately, we believe safety in wellbeing spaces cannot be assumed or marketed — it must be actively built and maintained.
