Hi, I’m Jenny Yeong. *
Jenny Yeong is a Somatic Therapist based in Oxford, offering Craniosacral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, NeuroAffective Touch and Somatic EMDR. She works both privately and through the Oxford Wellbeing Co-op.
Somatic therapy works by supporting the mind to map the felt sense of how the nervous system responds to the world. It also builds the felt sense of resource and resilience in the body to create new neural pathways that then offer wider choices for the nervous system.
In sessions she may move between modalities, depending on the needs of the client. She works intuitively to renegotiate the nervous system’s capacity for feeling difficult emotions so that past experiences can be processed and integrated. This is navigated with safety, compassion and curiosity and at a pace that is respectful to what is manageable for the body.
She is committed to finding ways of making somatic practices available to individuals and groups, especially to those who would otherwise struggle to attend these sessions. Everyone needs to have access to support to navigate the challenges of life.
Jenny has a background in mindfulness and nature-based practices, with a special interest in intergenerational trauma.
